Emcompass Healthcare is seeking a Coding Specialist to oversee all aspects of medical coding, chart auditing, and regulatory compliance for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in primary care or long-term care coding and auditing.

The role emphasizes compliance oversight, chart audits, and collaboration with providers to ensure accurate use of E/M, CPT, HCPCS codes, and proper ICD-10 usage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical coding and auditing in a medical practice.
• CPC/CPMA/CCS preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
• Experience with E/M, CPT, HCPCS codes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coding and billing practices comply with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations.
• Conduct internal audits to identify risk areas and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform regular chart audits to ensure proper documentation supports coding and billing.
• Oversee coding accuracy for medical claims and collaborate with revenue cycle for proper reimbursement.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure appropriate use of E/M, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
