Job summary

University of Colorado Medicine seeks a Medical Coding Assistant to join our Coding Services team. This role supports reconciliation of professional charges, basic coding review, and data entry in EPIC and CU Medicine systems.

This position can be performed 100% remotely and out-of-state candidates will be considered. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma with two years of office experience; CPC-A certification is required or strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of office experience.
• Completion of accredited coding certification (CPC-A) strongly preferred or required.
• Proficient with MS Office; strong data entry and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile electronic professional charges for assigned departments.
• Review missing charges and validate charges with coding staff.
• Perform basic coding review and data entry in CU Medicine applications.
• Handle additional clerical duties as assigned.
