Sciolex Corporation is seeking a Medical Coder to perform remote medical record coding in support of the Veterans Health Administration. This role emphasizes coding inpatient and outpatient cases using ICD-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, with strict adherence to coding guidelines and VA systems. Candidates should have 6–8 years of outpatient/inpatient coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC credentials, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

U.S. citizenship is required.

Competenze

• Must hold an active AHIMA or AAPC credential.
• Minimum 6–8 years of outpatient or inpatient coding experience.
• Able to read health records and identify diagnoses/procedures.
• Formal training in anatomy, physiology, and coding systems.

Mansioni

• Remote medical record coding for VA records (inpatient/outpatient).
• Code inpatient admissions, ambulatory surgery, and outpatient encounters.
• Code inpatient professional services and non-VA care as directed.
• Conduct limited coding audits/validation reviews when requested.
• Comply with HIPAA and VA information security requirements.
• Access VA VistA/CPRS and enter codes into encoder/EHR apps.
• Apply current coding guidelines using CPT/ICD/HCPCS references.
