Job summary

Meduit is seeking a Medical Coder II to work remotely, performing accurate coding for hospital outpatient and professional services across multiple EMR systems, including EPIC. You will analyze denials, ensure compliant coding, and submit clean claims to optimize reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of on-the-job experience in abstract coding and coding denials for hospital outpatient and professional claims.
• Payor and Policy Research experience.
• Experience Epic platform.
• Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze patient records.
• Code for services including E/M, labs, imaging, injections/infusions, and specialty procedures in clinic and hospital outpatient settings.
• Monitor, research, and correct claim denials within health plan requirements and document trends.
• Submit clean claims for payment.
• Comply with coding guidelines and industry standards (CCI edits, Medicare bulletins, ACR bulletins).
• Find documentation in EMR systems like EPIC, ECW, Cerner, Meditech.
• Interact with clients to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and information security.
• Maintain an error rate of 5% or less.
• Meet production goals set by supervisor.
