Job summary

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years physician coding experience, a high school diploma or GED/equivalent, and CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA certifications or active pursuit. This is a remote role with responsibilities across the health system.

Qualifications

• One to four years physician coding experience (preferred).
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA certification(s) required or ongoing.

Responsibilities

• Abstract information from service documentation and assign CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS codes and modifiers.
• Review and resolve coding denials.
• Complete charges sessions in the assigned work queues.
• Ensure documentation meets EM Guidelines for providers.
• Ensure Teaching Physician Rules per CMS and ULH before releasing a code.
• Ensure documentation for Advanced Practice Providers meets payer rules before coding release.
• Provide comments and trends on deficiencies identified in reviews.
