Job summary

University of Louisville Physicians is seeking a Coder I to join a remote Work From Home role in Ohio. You will abstract clinical information and assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes and modifiers to ensure compliant reimbursement under CMS and payer guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–4 years physician coding experience, and CPC and CCS/CCS-P/CCA certifications. Collaboration with providers and managers will help resolve denials and maintain coding quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
• 1–4 years physician coding experience is preferred.
• CPC, CCS, CCS-P or CCA certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract information from service documentation and assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes and modifiers.
• Review and resolve coding denials.
• Complete charges sessions in assigned work queues in a timely manner.
• Ensure documentation meets EM Guidelines for providers and CMS Teaching Physician Rules.
• Ensure documentation for Advanced Practice Providers meets payer-specific rules prior to billing.
