Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Coder I to support medical coding in a remote home-based role in Kentucky. The position focuses on accurate abstraction and coding to ensure proper reimbursement across federal, state, and private payers.

The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of physician coding experience, CPC and/or AHIMA credentials, and proficiency with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in physician coding (1–4 years preferred).
• CPC and CCS/CCS-P/CCA certifications required.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to medical records.
• Review and resolve coding denials.
• Submit charges within assigned work queues accurately.
• Ensure documentation meets CMS and ULH policies.
