Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking 10 remote ED coders for a long-term contract, based out of San Antonio, TX. The role focuses on reviewing ED records, assigning ICD-10-CM diagnoses, CPT/HCPCS procedures, and modifiers, and determining E/M levels following ACEP guidelines.

A strong grasp of CMS, NCCI edits, and payer requirements is essential. You will analyze documentation across nursing, physicians, and diagnostics to ensure accurate coding and charge capture, remaining compliant with Medicare, Medicaid,

Qualifications

• Review ED records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, and modifiers.
• Accurately assign facility E/M levels per ED guidelines and ACEP tool.
• Analyze documentation from nursing, physicians, and diagnostic services to ensure complete code assignment and charge capture.
• Apply CMS, NCCI edits, and payer-specific requirements.
• Review accounts for procedural services and injections/infusions when applicable.

Looking for 10 REMOTE coders to support a company on a long-term contract. Looking for different types of coders: Inpatient, outpatient, physician and ED coding experince.

Description

• Review emergency department medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, and applicable modifiers.
• Accurately assign facility Evaluation and Management (E/M) levels in accordance with client-specific emergency department leveling guidelines and facility charging methodologies, including knowledge of the ACEP tool.
• Analyze documentation from nursing staff, physicians, ancillary departments, and diagnostic services to ensure complete code assignment and charge capture.
• Apply official coding guidelines, CMS regulations, National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits, and payer-specific requirements.
• Review accounts for appropriate assignment of procedural services and injections/infusions when applicable.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate within the appropriate channels regarding coding clarification needs.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and organizational coding policies.
• Participate in coding quality reviews, audits, educational initiatives, and process improvement activities.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
