Qualifications

• Active AHIMA CCS, CIC, CPC or RN/clinical credential with chart review or CDI experience.
• Thorough expertise in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and MS-DRG methodology.
• Experience reviewing charts in diverse clinical settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Access to ICD-10-CM/PCS code sets and official guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit medical charts for code accuracy and completeness.
• Validate diagnosis, procedures, POA indicators, and MS-DRG assignments.
• Flag under- and over-coding and CC/MCC issues.
• Apply coding guidelines and clinic guidance; flag gaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Provide feedback to improve workflows and AI training data.
• Ensure findings meet current coding standards.
