Job summary

panaHEALTH (Panacea Healthcare Solutions) is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Team Lead to supervise daily billing operations and drive performance, accuracy, and productivity of the billing team.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of US medical billing/RCM experience and a track record leading billing professionals. You will coordinate activities, monitor quality, resolve complex issues, and improve revenue cycle metrics.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in US medical billing, healthcare RCM, insurance claims, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a team lead or supervisory role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical billing, claims processing, AR follow-up, denials, and payment posting.
• Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM terminology.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes.
• Experience reviewing EOBs/ERAs and resolving payer-related issues.
• Experience with medical billing, EHR/EMR, or RCM software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a remote team and multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of the Medical Billing team.
• Review and monitor claim submission, rejection, payment, and follow-up activities.
• Ensure claims are submitted accurately and timely within payer filing deadlines.
• Monitor AR aging, unpaid claims, denials, rejections, and underpayments with timely follow-up.
• Review complex billing and claim issues and provide resolution or escalation.
• Monitor team productivity, quality, accuracy, and turnaround time against targets.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to billing team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training new billing staff on processes and payer requirements.
• Coordinate with coding, AR, denial management, and other RCM teams to resolve issues.
• Review EOBs, ERAs, payer responses, and claim status information for discrepancies.
• Assist with corrected claims, reconsiderations, appeals, and reimbursement activities.
• Track recurring denial and billing issues and recommend process improvements.
