Qualifications

• Proficient in medical billing and coding standards.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Experience with HIPAA and healthcare privacy.
• Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Effective communication with payers, providers, and patients.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Submit clean claims across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers with high first-pass rate.
• Manage denial queues, identify root causes, and resubmit within deadlines.
• Work aged A/R buckets to keep A/R over 90 days below 15%.
• Perform patient collections and balance follow-ups professionally.
• Navigate EMR and billing platforms (Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, AdvancedMD or equivalents).
• Collaborate with AI tools for claim prep and A/R aging analysis.
• Deliver weekly billing performance summaries to the client practice manager.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and CPT/HCPCS standards.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities and update patient billing information.
