Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in surgical/outpatient settings.
• Familiar with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Certification CPC, CCS, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to surgical procedures and diagnoses.
• Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments promptly.
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and reconcile billing records.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations.
• Communicate with physicians, staff, and payers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding guidelines.
