Job summary

Dane Street is seeking experienced coders and bill reviewers to join our team. This role focuses on reviewing medical reports to ensure accurate coding and billing, with communication to other reviewers and client offices to resolve questions and meet deadlines.

Candidates should hold CPC/APCC/CMBS/DRG coder certification and have experience in payment integrity or professional bill review, ideally with remote work experience. Healthcare background preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a CPC, APCC, CMBS, or DRG coder certification.
• Payment integrity or professional bill review experience preferred.
• Out-of-network bill review experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a remote environment is preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or health care background.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the appropriateness of codes and determines if they meet program standards.
• Ensures records are matched to the codes and obtains missing records when needed.
• Read and apply policy guidelines and healthcare terminology, delineating when criteria are met or not.
• Evaluates claims for conflicts of interest and criteria appropriateness.
• Works within established timeframes set by program parameters.
• Provides strong customer service and works with clients to ensure timely, error-free QA of cases.
• Provides clinical oversight to complex cases prior to returning to the client.
• Acts as an additional QA and clinical knowledge resource for quality issues.
