Job summary

Modena Health in California's San Diego area is seeking a remote Medical Biller/Coder to join our expanding allergy and asthma practice. You will review clinical documentation, code with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, and submit clean claims to payers from a remote home office.

The role requires at least 2 years of billing and coding experience, preferably in allergy/specialty settings, with strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency in EMR and practice management software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing and coding experience.
• Experience in Allergy & Asthma, Pulmonary, ENT, or specialty physician practice.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR and practice management software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation for coding accuracy and completeness.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes for visits, procedures, testing, and treatments.
• Submit clean claims electronically and monitor status for timely reimbursement.
• Correct claim edits, rebilling, and appeals as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records in the PM system.
• Support HIPAA compliance and internal audits within the revenue cycle.
