Greython Construction is seeking a cost estimator to analyze plans and prepare accurate estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection systems across commercial projects.

The role involves using digital takeoffs, soliciting bids, and coordinating with project managers and clients to ensure scope alignment. Remote work is allowed with travel to Mystic, CT for meetings and site oversight nationwide.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Bachelor’s with extensive cost-estimating experience.
• At least 3 years leading mechanical estimating for HVAC, plumbing and fire-protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specs and drawings to prepare accurate estimates for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Perform takeoffs using digital tools to quantify mechanical components from design documents.
• Solicit, review and compare bids to ensure competitive pricing and scope alignment.
• Use estimating software to streamline pricing and improve accuracy in bids.
• Identify cost-saving alternatives and contingencies to protect project budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to clarify scope and align expectations.
• Communicate estimate details to stakeholders with data-driven rationale.
• Monitor market conditions and code changes to reflect current standards.
