DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to craft challenging, closed-ended engineering problems used to train AI models. You’ll derive and verify solutions, then test problems against AI systems to push models to reason like a human engineer.

The role emphasizes mechanical design, materials, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and dynamic systems. Candidates should have 2+ years in engineering and a relevant bachelor’s degree, with remote work flexibility available.

Formación

• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in any specialty such as design, product development, manufacturing, thermal, structural, or robotics.
• Fluency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Creo, NX, CATIA or Inventor) or equivalent for engineering analysis.
• Strong fundamentals across mechanics of materials, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to write precise, unambiguous technical problems and clear worked solutions in fluent written English.
• Meticulous with a knack for finding edge cases that test assumptions.
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (completed or in progress).
• Only applicants based in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States will be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Write challenging, closed-ended problems from your area of expertise that require real engineering reasoning, not lookup.
• Derive the correct answer, verify it, and provide a worked solution showing the derivation.
• Test problems against AI systems and sharpen ones they get right to challenge the model.
• Review AI-generated engineering analysis, designs, and technical documentation for correctness and real-world applicability.
• Review other contributors’ problems and solutions for correctness, ambiguity, and rigor.
