Job summary

D2B is seeking a proactive Mechanical & Electrical Drafter to join our team as a full-time independent contractor. You will produce precise 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings for electrical cabinets and switchboards, aligning with AS/NZS standards and client specifications.

The role requires 2+ years of drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks, and the ability to generate BOMs and wire lists within CAD environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of professional drafting experience in mechanical/electrical environments.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
• Strong 2D drafting and 3D modeling skills.
• Solid working knowledge of electrical components and switchboards.
• Familiar with AS/NZS standards for electrical control panels.
• Proven ability to generate BOMs and wire run lists in CAD.
• Independent, self-motivated with good communication across teams.
• Remote work setup and overlap with Australian business hours.

Responsibilities

• Produce manufacture-ready 2D drawings and 3D models for electrical cabinets and switchboards.
• Create GA drawings, SLDs, schematics, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Interpret client inputs, specs, sketches and BOMs to develop precise drawings.
• Design cabinet layouts, cable management, DIN rail configurations with manufacturing constraints.
• Perform self-checks on drawings for accuracy, part numbers, quantities, and revisions.
• Maintain AS/NZS compliance, templates, title blocks, and drawing registers.
