Job summary

NORR, a leading integrated Architecture and Engineering firm, seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer to develop design solutions for building projects. You will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure mechanical systems meet budget, aesthetics, and code requirements, while coordinating through all project phases.

Your expertise in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and related software will support accurate drawings, calculations, and specifications for diverse building types.

Qualifications

• Proficient in engineering software, including AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and other mechanical design tools.
• Understanding of building mechanical systems across multiple building types.
• Familiarity with architectural concepts and building codes is required.
• Completed related post-secondary education is expected.
• Registration with a relevant engineering association would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design building components, integrating architectural design and adhering to codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Create drawings to support construction projects and evaluate engineering design requirements.
• Perform calculations, code research, material and systems studies, and layout components.
• Assess site conditions, zoning, and conduct site surveys and field reviews.
• Draft engineering specifications for project manuals by synthesizing technical information.
• Review project products, services, and shop drawings for compliance with documents and quality controls.
