Job summary

NORR in the United States is seeking a Designer to translate design intent into construction documents, applying detailing and material knowledge to projects. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate with engineers, and ensure compliance with building codes throughout all design phases.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of project experience, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and a background in residential work.

Qualifications

• Experience in all phases of the project cycle.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other architectural software.
• Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes.
• Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset.
• 4-8 years of project work experience.
• Experience in Residential projects is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Developing technical designs and edits architectural drawings to meet quality, timelines and budgets.
• Performing programming, code research, material and building systems research, and space calculations.
• Evaluating site conditions and conducting site surveys.
• Reviewing project products, services, and shop drawings.
• Processing permit response letters and coordinating revisions with engineers/consultants.
• Coordinating with contractors/consultants/building authorities to address constructability issues.
