Job summary

SaidGig seeks a remote contract engineer to apply mechanical design and manufacturing expertise for training AI systems through real-world engineering input. You will create, interpret, and review manufacturable CAD designs and technical docs with strong emphasis on precision and clarity.

Use SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, NX, and FreeCAD to develop and verify models, drawings, and specifications. Collaboration is remote, with a focus on high-quality, manufacturable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical design experience from concept through manufacturing.
• Expert CAD capability across multiple platforms including SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, NX.
• Hands-on FreeCAD knowledge for model interpretation/reference.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, drafting standards and DFM practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with remote collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and interpret professional engineering drawings with manufacturing details.
• Translate design requirements into manufacturable CAD specifications.
• Produce 2D and 3D models using listed CAD tools.
• Apply GD&T and tolerancing to deliverables.
• Document manufacturing processes and design intent clearly.
• Review and improve engineering documentation for clarity and manufacturability.
• Provide DFM insights to optimize parts for real-world production.
