Job summary

Engage Consulting seeks an experienced MDS Nurse / MDS Coordinator for a full-time remote role supporting skilled nursing facilities with MDS assessments and reimbursement processes.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license with compact privileges, RAC-CT preferred, and a strong knowledge of CMS regulations and the RAI process. You will collaborate with diverse teams and ensure timely MDS submissions from a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with compact/multistate privileges required.
• Previous MDS experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) required.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, the RAI process, MDS 3.0, and skilled nursing documentation.
• Understanding of Medicare reimbursement, PDPM, and care planning requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating effectively with facility teams.
• RAC-CT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete and review MDS assessments per CMS guidelines and regulations.
• Ensure accurate, timely completion and submission of MDS assessments.
• Support SNF teams with MDS scheduling, documentation, and assessment accuracy.
• Review clinical records to ensure documentation supports MDS coding and resident care needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, therapy, social services, and facility leadership.
• Assist with care planning and ensure documentation supports resident outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor assessment timelines (admission, quarterly, annual, significant changes, discharge).
• Support Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement accuracy through MDS coding and documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of CMS regulations, RAI updates, and MDS requirements.
