Job summary

Engage Consulting is seeking an experienced MDS Nurse (RN) MDS Coordinator for a full-time remote position supporting skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities through accurate MDS assessments, clinical documentation, and reimbursement processes.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license with compact privileges, RAC-CT preferred, and has thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, the RAI process, MDS 3.0, and Medicare PDPM.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with compact/multistate privileges.
• Experience with MDS in SNF setting.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and RAI process.
• Understanding of Medicare reimbursement (PDPM).
• Strong organization and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Complete and review MDS assessments per CMS guidelines.
• Ensure accurate, timely submission of MDS assessments.
• Support SNF teams with MDS scheduling, documentation, and accuracy.
• Review clinical records to ensure documentation supports MDS coding and resident care needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, therapy, social services, leadership).
• Assist with care planning and documentation for resident outcomes and compliance.
• Monitor assessment timelines (admission, quarterly, annual, significant change, discharge).
• Support Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement accuracy through MDS coding.
• Maintain knowledge of CMS regulations, RAI updates, and MDS requirements.
