Job summary

Modular, a Qualcomm company, is hiring an Engineering Manager for the MAX Kernel team to lead a seasoned group of kernel engineers. You will own the kernel roadmap and optimize per-model, per-hardware performance across NVIDIA, AMD and ASIC targets, partnering with Framework, Serve, Compiler/Runtime and Hardware Enablement teams.

You’ll work with a team distributed across Los Altos and remote locations in the US, shaping a growing kernel community and driving performance with a strong focus on

Qualifications

3+ years as an engineering manager leading kernel, compiler, HPC, or ML performance teams.
Strong cross‑functional communication; able to drive technical decisions.
Track record of hiring and growing senior kernel or performance engineers.
Working knowledge of writing and optimizing GPU/accelerator kernels (CUDA, HIP/ROCm, Triton, CuTe or similar).

Responsibilities

Lead ~12 kernel engineers across NVIDIA, AMD and ASICs; manage career development.
Own the MAX kernel roadmap and deliverables across models and hardware.
Collaborate with Framework, Serve, Compiler/Runtime, Hardware Enablement and Qualcomm kernel teams.
Advance AI-assisted kernel development and kernel community across the org.
