Job summary

Modular, a Qualcomm company, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Hardware Bringup team. You will own end-to-end accelerator bring-up, aligning with Mojo, graph compiler, MAX, and cloud teams while delivering on ambitious milestones.

You will mentor a 2–7 person team, contribute code and architecture reviews, and manage SOWs with hardware partners. A hands-on leader with strong C++, CUDA/SYCL/OpenCL experience is ideal.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience in compiler engineering, HPC, kernel development, or related domains.
  • 2+ years managing engineers (strong IC-to-manager transitions welcome).
  • Strong foundation in compilers, systems software, or accelerator programming.
  • Proficiency in C++ and experience with complex multi-component software systems.
  • Hands-on with MLIR/LLVM, kernel codegen, or runtime systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a 2–7 person team across compiler, kernel, and runtime engineers.
  • Remain hands-on: participate in design reviews, contribute to architecture and prototypes, review code.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of hardware platform enablement, from viability and bring-up to compiler integration and deployment.
  • Define SOW scoping, milestones, and acceptance criteria with hardware partners.
  • Coordinate with Kernels, Graph Compiler, MAX, and Cloud teams to align roadmaps and forecasts.
  • Assist Head of Mojo in hiring and building a high-caliber team.
  • Foster a write-down, demo-driven culture with architecture learnings documented.
