Job summary

Modular, a Qualcomm company, is hiring a Driver Engineer to bridge Modular’s compiler and runtime with silicon. You'll work on devices, contexts, queues, memory allocators, and networking across NVIDIA, AMD, Apple Silicon, and other accelerators.

Your work enables reliable kernel and graph execution across diverse hardware. The US team operates in hybrid mode with possible relocation assistance; new hires may work on-site three days a week in Los Altos, CA for onboarding; senior staff have

Qualifications

• 3+ years of high‑performance, low‑latency production systems experience.
• Hands‑on with accelerator driver APIs (CUDA Driver API, HIP, Metal, or Vulkan).
• Understanding of memory models, streams, contexts, and multi‑GPU topologies.
• Strong debugging skills for asynchronous, multi‑device environments.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to design reviews and open source work.

Responsibilities

• Implement and extend core driver abstractions across hardware backends.
• Contribute to multi‑accelerator and multi‑node communication and collectives.
• Improve diagnostics and error reporting in asynchronous execution stacks.
• Collaborate with Kernels, Graph Compiler/Runtime, and Serving teams.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and open source contributions.
