Job summary

Sheridan Pontiac is seeking a proactive purchasing professional to manage paper procurement, supplier relationships, and related scheduling for production needs. The role can be performed locally in Pontiac, IL or remotely, supporting both internal customers and external suppliers.

You will negotiate terms, monitor inventories, and coordinate with prepress, print suppliers, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery and cost control. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent education/experience preferred; printing or related industry experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, telephone, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including evaluating purchasing trends and supplier quality.

Responsibilities

• Manage, negotiate, and purchase paper to support plant production.
• Source paper to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
• Serve as the point person for customer and sales inquiries related to paper availability, specifications, and samples.
• Oversee paper inventories, including database activities and allocations; reconcile inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with raw material suppliers and service providers.
