System One is seeking a Materials Engineer (Weld) on a yearlong contract to support weld processes, supplier qualification, and materials development for advanced reactor components. The role involves laboratory testing, process development, and applying metallurgical fundamentals to inform manufacturing with external suppliers.

The candidate will analyze test data, develop weld designs, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure readiness and regulatory alignment for next‑generation

Competenze

• BS in Materials Science/Engineering or Welding Engineering with relevant experience.
• MS in Materials Science/Engineering or Welding Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with weld engineering for new design.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and solve challenging problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Mansioni

• Provide welding configuration, geometry, and methods guidance supporting reactor development programs.
• Develop weld designs, specifications, and processes to support reactor design and licensing.
• Inform materials test programs to validate material/weld performance models.
• Analyze test data (metallography, NDE, mechanical properties) and generate technical reports.
• Support procurement of engineered components and lead supplier development.
