Job summary

Erie Insurance Group is seeking a Material Damage Adjuster to assess and settle material damage claims from home-based OH. The role requires coordinating with repair shops, policyholders, and claimants, and negotiating settlements within authority.

The preferred candidate will reside in Ohio, possess strong organizational skills, and may be considered for a Material Damage Adjuster II depending on experience. Travel for catastrophe duty may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or GED, required.
• Two years of experience in body shop, general claims handling OR completion of ERIE training program, required.
• Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
• Completion of General Insurance program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Makes arrangements with repair shops, Policyholders or claimants to inspect vehicles and write estimates.
• Negotiates with repair shops on cost of repairs and determines salvage within authority.
• Distinguishes cause of damage for appropriate policy coverage.
• Issues settlement checks and keeps records.
• Establishes rapport with Agents and claims adjusters.
• Attends appropriate training sessions.
