Job summary

Matter Health is seeking an experienced Market Medical Director to lead physician oversight for the Massachusetts market, driving value-based care for Medicare-eligible residents in affordable housing. This fully remote leadership role includes occasional travel for team engagement and clinical observation.

You will mentor NP/MD teams, coordinate care, and guide population health initiatives, quality improvement, and care coordination in a collaborative, distributed setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related primary care.
• Active MA medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Minimum of five years of physician leadership or oversight experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician leadership and clinical oversight across the Massachusetts market.
• Mentor and support Nurse Practitioners and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Provide clinical consultation and support through virtual collaboration.
• Support clinical decision-making and transitions of care for high-risk patients.
• Drive quality-improvement initiatives and value-based care outcomes.
• Partner with Operations leadership to improve patient experience and market performance.
• Support provider development through coaching, education, and clinical leadership.
• Collaborate with specialists, hospitals, health plans, and community organizations to strengthen care coordination.
• Help develop clinical workflows, best practices, and care-delivery strategies.
• Monitor clinical quality, patient outcomes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support population-health initiatives across the assigned market.
• Serve as a physician ambassador for Matter Health and the communities we serve.
• Travel within the assigned market occasionally for team, clinical, community, or business needs.
