Job summary

Abbott is seeking a seasoned Market Access professional for a remote role in the Cancer Diagnostics division. You will monitor payer performance, guide resolution strategies with cross-functional teams, and support strategic payer outreach to optimize reimbursement and patient access across the United States.

The position requires 8+ years in payer strategy or billing management, a business or finance degree, and deep knowledge of CMS coding and payer policies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in market access, payer strategy, reimbursement, revenue cycle, or billing management within the healthcare services industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field attained or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of genomic/oncology environments and payer policies.
• Understanding of billing and claims performance and relevant coding conventions.
• Familiarity with CMS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payer, claims, reimbursement, and billing performance; investigate and prioritize issues by volume, impact, and patient access.
• Develop and coordinate resolution strategies with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Provide reimbursement guidance, education, tools, and issue support to field sales and KAMs; translate issues into scalable improvements.
• Support appeal strategy for payers and assess intervention effectiveness on a quarterly cadence.
• Maintain strong knowledge of medical billing requirements, policies, and coding practices.
