Job summary

Mercy-Ships- seeks a Senior Technical Services Manager to lead the fleet's shared technical services, balancing immediate maintenance with long-term reliability across multiple ship systems. You will guide specialists, coordinate with AMPs and dry-dock work, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible maritime technical experience, including leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical personnel and coordinating specialist resources in international environments.
• Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, uptime, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Technical Services Team and allocate the shared specialist bench across machinery, electrical, navigation, hospital, accommodation, deck, and other systems.
• Coordinate specialists during AMPs and vessel work under the vessel's Technical Superintendent.
• Maintain close engagement with vessel engineering, electrical, and biomedical teams to surface technical pain points early.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary repairs and work with vendors while the Technical Superintendent owns resolution.
• Drive engineering practices, maintenance strategy, and planned maintenance system quality with the Fleet Technical Manager.
• Develop and maintain engineering adequacy standards for major repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
