Job summary

Leidos Gibbs & Cox is seeking a Marine Mechanical Engineer Level 2 to design, analyze, and integrate marine mechanical systems for naval platforms. The role focuses on propulsion, fuel, HVAC, and auxiliary systems with lifetime engineering support and documentation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Marine or Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and CAD/MS Office skills. Travel ~10% to multiple offices is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently (with moderate supervision), or on project teams.
  • Performs calculations applying mechanical engineering principles, procedures, and criteria.
  • Develops analyses and prepares technical reports and other engineering documentation.
  • Develops ship propulsion and auxiliary system calculations and designs and prepares technical purchase specifications for major equipment.
  • Supports engineering activities for systems that may include main and auxiliary propulsion, fuel systems, lubrication systems, seawater and freshwater systems, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems Basic
