Job summary

Leidos Gibbs & Cox is seeking a Marine Mechanical Engineer Level 2 to support the design, analysis, and integration of marine mechanical systems for naval and maritime platforms. This mid-level role is suited for an engineer with experience applying technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and interest in supporting ship design, system development, and lifecycle engineering efforts.

Travel about 10% with main offices in New York, Philadelphia, Arlington, Newport News, and New Orleans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and shipboard systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical engineering calculations and analyses.
  • Develop analyses and prepare technical reports and specs.
  • Support ship propulsion and auxiliary system design and procurement.
  • Contribute to HVAC, fuel, seawater, and other ship system engineering activities.
