Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. seeks a skilled marine diesel technician to perform advanced repairs and diagnostics on inboard diesel engines for yachts and commercial vessels.

You will disassemble, inspect, maintain, and reinstall engines, while servicing fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems and working on propulsion transmissions. The role requires deep knowledge of Caterpillar engines, electrical controls, and test equipment, with a focus on reliable, safe repairs and clear customer communication

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Six years of experience with at least four years on Cat equipment.
• Proficient in at least four mechanical systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing inboard marine diesel engines.
• Engine disassembly, inspection, maintenance/repair, and reassembly.
• Maintaining fuel systems, tanks, pumps, and fuel injection components.
• Maintaining lubrication systems for four-stroke and two-stroke engines.
• Maintaining cooling systems of marine diesel engines.
• Disassembly and service of major transmissions for inboard engines.
• Perform engine shaft alignments and tune-ups.
• Diagnose engine electrical control systems and perform repairs.
• Address engine and vessel performance issues.
