Job summary

ALC, a fast-growing, fully remote CFO advisory and outsourced accounting firm, seeks a seasoned manufacturing finance leader to join our client-focused team across the United States. You will help owners translate cost accounting and plant data into strategic financial decisions.

You will own client relationships, supervise accounting teams, and lead cost accounting, inventory, and capital investment analyses, while communicating insights to boards and lenders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in financial advisory or CFO services, with 5+ years in manufacturing leadership.
• Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, costing methods, and margin analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems and partnering with operations leaders on capacity, pricing, and capital decisions.
• Proven leadership guiding mid-market businesses through financial planning, lender relationships, and operational efficiency.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and forecasting tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end client relationships, provide strategic financial guidance in planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, M&A, and capital decisions.
• Build and maintain cost accounting structures—standard, job, or process costing; bills of materials; labor and overhead absorption; lead variance analysis.
• Oversee inventory accounting across materials, WIP, and finished goods, including counts, costing methods, and obsolescence reserves.
• Translate plant data—capacity utilization, throughput, scrap and yield, cost per unit—into financial decisions and KPI dashboards.
• Lead capex ROI analysis, make-vs-buy decisions, and working capital strategy; manage lender relationships and covenant reporting.
• Build pricing and quoting models accounting for material costs, tariffs, supplier terms, and demand shifts.
• Help clients optimize ERP/MRP data flow into financial reporting.
• Lead structured client QBRs and deliver service earning high client satisfaction.
• Mentor client teams to raise firm capability across manufacturing finance.
