Job summary

SaidGig is seeking a Mandarin-English transcriptionist for a remote contract. You will produce accurate verbatim transcripts from Mandarin and English audio, add tags and contextual notes per guidelines, and proofread for consistency and formatting.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, independence to manage remote deliverables, and the ability to meet tight project timelines. Experience with AI training data is a plus but not required. Compensation is hourly and remote.

Qualifications

• Native Mandarin and English proficiency with strong listening skills.
• Proven transcription experience, especially Mandarin.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently on remote projects.
• Familiarity with transcription platforms is a plus.
• Bilingual Mandarin-English experience is advantageous.
• Interest in AI training and language technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Listen to Mandarin and English recordings and create precise verbatim transcripts.
• Add required tags or contextual notes according to project guidelines.
• Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and error-free delivery.
• Follow detailed transcription instructions and meet project timelines and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify ambiguous audio and linguistic challenges.
• Contribute linguistic insight to improve AI understanding for Mandarin data.
