Job summary

Tala is seeking a Manager, Machine Learning Engineering to lead the ML Platform team. You will manage engineers responsible for scalable platforms and infrastructure enabling secure training, deployment, monitoring, and operation of ML models at scale.

You will guide architecture, elevate engineering practices, and own SLOs and reliability, while growing the team and driving impactful ML solutions for a global customer base.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience in consumer-scale applications.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Python experience.
• Experience building and operating ML systems in production.
• Earlier-career experience deploying ML models or ML infrastructure.
• Ability to participate in architecture and system-design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 4–6 Machine Learning Engineers.
• Own quarterly goals and delivery across the roadmap and operations.
• Provide technical leadership on model infrastructure and real-time inference.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product teams.
