Job summary

Regions Financial Corporation is seeking a Mainframe Systems Engineer to install and maintain mainframe operating systems, ensuring stability, performance, and security in a dynamic environment.

The role involves evaluating configurations, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing DR plans while collaborating with teams and vendors to drive continuous improvement. This position is offsite, primarily work from home, with potential on-site requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field and six years of mainframe infrastructure experience.
• Or High School Diploma or GED with ten years of mainframe infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Mainframe products including ZOS, CICS, MQ, DB2, Storage, Automation, ZLINUX or Networking.
• Experience in problem determination, installation and support of mainframe products, disaster recovery, performance and tuning.
• Experience in opening, managing, solving, and closing problems with vendor support centers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex mainframe issues for systems and applications.
• Administers, configures, and maintains mainframe systems including hardware and software.
• Monitors and optimizes mainframe operating systems for efficiency and reliability.
• Maintains installation records by documenting configurations and procedures.
• Ensures adherence to organization standards and quality service.
• Supports problem resolution with applications and other staff.
• Develops backup and disaster recovery strategies for business continuity.
• On-call coverage 24x7 on a rotating basis for Sev1 incidents.
• Ensures compliance with risk management, cybersecurity, and change management practices.
