Job summary

Georgia IT Inc. is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer for a remote, full-time role focused on COBOL-based applications. You will analyze, develop, maintain, and modernize legacy systems while ensuring reliable batch processing and smooth operation of mainframe workloads.

You will design and implement COBOL-DB2-CICS solutions, manage JCL jobs, and contribute to modernization initiatives. Candidates should bring 10+ years in mainframe tech, strong debugging skills, and experience with agile

Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and CICS.
Strong experience in batch processing, job scheduling, and production support environments.
Experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M.
Proficiency with Mainframe debugging and analysis tools such as Xpediter, File-AID, and Abend-AID.
Experience working in Agile and SDLC-driven environments.

Responsibilities

Perform code screening, analysis, and scraping of existing mainframe applications to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
Analyze legacy applications and contribute to modernization, transformation, and migration strategies.
Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-DB2-CICS based applications, including managing JCL jobs and batch processing.
