Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation seeks an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL/JCL/VSAM and banking domain expertise to support core banking systems such as Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, General Ledger and Tax.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications, analyze requirements, and collaborate with analysts, architects, testers and stakeholders to implement system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience.
• Strong experience in core banking applications (Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, GL, Tax).
• Proficiency with mainframe tools and batch processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications for core banking operations.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and related technologies.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support tasks.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders on system enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, SIT/UAT, and deployment activities.
