Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Legal Expert in Transactional / Corporate for a remote, hourly contract. You will review complex deal documents, perform due diligence, and advise on corporate governance and securities filings while ensuring high-quality, attorney-level outputs.

The role requires 1–4 years of transactional or corporate law experience, a U.S./Canada (or UK) law degree, and bar eligibility. Flexible hours of 20–40 per week offered; start immediately.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of professional experience in transactional or corporate law.
• J.D. (U.S./Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. (U.K.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S., Canada, or U.K. (active or inactive).
• Strong experience in contract review, due diligence, corporate governance, NDA drafting, or securities filings.
• Excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic deal scenarios from transactional practice such as M&A due diligence, SPAs/APAs, and securities filings.
• Write "golden" reference responses at attorney-level quality.
• Grade AI-generated responses using structured rubrics.
• Provide written feedback to improve model behaviour.
• Participate in onboarding office hours and specialty calibration sessions.
