Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a finance leader to drive the accounting integration for acquisitions and divestitures from Day 1 onward. You will guide complex transactions, coordinate across finance, and advise senior leaders on GAAP, ASC, and SEC matters.

The role requires CPA, 6–8 years experience including Big Four exposure, and strong communication skills. Remote/hybrid work from the East Coast with occasional travel is possible.

Qualifications

• CPA required
• Six to eight years related experience, including at least three with a national CPA firm
• Experience with SEC reporting requirements for a publicly traded company
• Big Four background highly preferred
• Aptitude for planning and meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with ASC topics and SEC/GAAP rules

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance workstream for acquisitions, divestitures, carve outs and strategic investments
• Develop and execute a finance integration plan from Day 1 to operating model
• Collaborate with functions to integrate acquired entities into processes and controls
• Support due diligence and assess integration effort for transactions
• Evaluate purchase agreements and provide accounting guidance on structures
• Prepare accounting entries and memos for management and auditors
• Improve integration approaches with the finance teams and playbook
• Coordinate with Corporate Development and cross-functional teams on acquisitions
• Research accounting literature and apply standards to complex transactions
• Assist in contract reviews and determine accounting implications
• Help implement new accounting guidance from FASB/SEC
• Update accounting policies in response to business changes
• Develop worldwide accounting policies and improve efficiencies
• Handle other related duties as assigned
