LanguageLine Solutions LLC is seeking a Luganda Interpreter who will provide remote interpretation services from the home office in the United States. This independent contractor role requires delivering accurate, culturally aware interpretations between Luganda and English across various industries, with emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.

Competenze

• Fluency in Luganda and English with cultural awareness.
• Ability to assess regional accents for effective communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking for accurate interpretation.
• Maintain neutrality and handle sensitive topics professionally.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Reading and writing in Luganda and English highly preferred.

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render accurate concepts per interpretation protocol with no omissions/additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and etiquette.
• Maintain professionalism and calm during sessions, including emergencies.
• Stay punctual and available during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations while protecting LEP rights.
• Understand terminology across industries (medical, finance, law).
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Some calls may be emotional or long; provide required level of service.
