Job summary

NASA Federal Credit Union seeks a Loan Workout Officer to assist members through financial hardship with policy-aligned solutions. You will evaluate consumer loan requests, analyze financial circumstances, and present workout options to the Loan Review Committee for approval.

You will maintain the Loss Mitigation portfolio, perform ability-to-repay analyses, and ensure compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, MLA and BSA requirements. Remote/hybrid work options apply based on position.

Qualifications

• Three to five years relevant experience in lending or loss mitigation.
• Two years' experience in consumer or mortgage lending.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, MLA and related laws.
• Knowledge of 1st Mortgage, Home Equity or Consumer underwriting.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Counsels members and collects documentation for hardship requests.
• Evaluates loan status and makes policy-based recommendations for the Loan Review Committee.
• Presents loan workout options for approval or denial.
• Maintains the Loss Mitigation portfolio for consumer loans.
• Completes ability-to-repay analyses and risk reviews.
• Sets up approved loan workouts in the core system.
• Adheres to lending regulations and Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
