Job summary

Connections Academy in Maine seeks a Live Lesson Attendance Coordinator to boost student attendance and engagement inLiveLesson sessions. You will work with students, families, teachers, counselors, and school leaders to identify barriers and implement targeted interventions, focusing on those most in need.

The role requires coordinating with teachers and families, using data to drive strategies, and supporting instructional access in a virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, in education, counseling, social work, psychology, youth development, or related field.
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students, particularly those experiencing academic, attendance, engagement, or motivational challenges.
• Experience working with at-risk youth or providing student interventions is strongly preferred.
• Strong commitment to helping students overcome barriers and remain engaged in their education.
• Student-focused, relationship-centered approach with strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a virtual environment; good organizational skills.
• Willingness to occasionally work evening hours and travel within Maine as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor LiveLesson attendance and related data to identify students with low or declining attendance.
• Conduct proactive outreach to students and families to identify barriers and develop individualized strategies.
• Provide targeted attendance interventions, including reminders, goal setting, and follow-up.
• Build positive relationships with students and families while maintaining clear expectations for attendance and progress.
• Track contacts, barriers, interventions, attendance patterns, and outcomes; adjust supports as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and school staff to coordinate supports and interventions.
• Participate in MTSS/RTI, grade-level, student support, attendance, and family meetings as appropriate.
• When regular attendance is not possible, develop alternative engagement plans (recordings, materials, assignments).
• Monitor students on alternative engagement plans to ensure continued instructional access and progress.
