Job summary

Edovate Learning Corporation seeks part-time Teaching Assistants for its remote live online program (Aug–May). You will monitor Zoom chats, assist with class activities, and support teachers and students in a flexible, home-based environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, experience with Zoom and Microsoft Office, and familiarity with LMS platforms. Training is provided, and 4–12 hours per week offers a rewarding remote opportunity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • Experience with Zoom video conferencing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (Moodle preferred) and Edovate LMS.
  • Experience with tech learning tools such as Classkick, Nearpod, Kahoot!, Blooket, Gimkit, Quizziz, Padlet preferred.
  • Ability to multitask on split screens or dual monitors.
  • Strong independent work habits and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedication to customer service and program support.

Responsibilities

  • Online classroom management during live sessions and support as needed.
  • Take attendance and set due dates for assignments.
  • Assist with grading and class coverage when the Lead Teacher is absent.
  • Communicate with families, homeschool partners, and instructors under supervision.
  • Respond to support tickets and inquiries from parents and staff.
  • Record live online sessions and help with using online tools.

General Role Description

Dynamic, accredited live online program is seeking part-time teaching assistants for our growing live online program (Aug-May). Applicants must be experienced with Microsoft Office suite and Zoom video conferencing, have a reliable laptop or desktop with stable internet service, and a distraction-free dedicated workspace. Applicants must be over 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma, and have some experience working with students. Experience with online education and digital learning apps is preferred.

Teaching Assistants will provide teacher and student support during the live class sessions. Support may include monitoring Zoom chat and breakout rooms, grading students’ digital submissions, performing administrative tasks, and providing substitute coverage. All team members receive paid training throughout the academic year.

This position is ideal for those with a passion for quality home education and who can commit between 4-12 hours per week to this rewarding remote employment opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

Online classroom management including some or all the following (at the discretion of the teacher)

  • Prior to the start of class, support the Lead Teacher’s upload of PowerPoint with learning objectives and any corresponding materials for the live lesson
  • Take Attendance
  • Set due dates and deadlines for assignments
  • Document changes for NCAA courses
  • Complete the Exit Slip recording form
  • Support the Lead Teacher with grading
  • Provide class coverage when the Lead Teacher is absent
  • Provide student support during class time as needed
  • At request of the teacher send correspondence to student and/or homeschool instructor as needed related to lack of participation / absence from class or lack of assignment completion
  • Obtain feedback from all Live Online class participants via surveys, email, and telephone communications
  • Facilitate complaint resolutions
  • Ensure timely, effective communication with families, charter partners, homeschool teachers, and other stakeholders under Team Lead and Learning Ops supervision
  • Respond promptly to support tickets, and inquiries from parents, advisors, sales team, and instructors
Course Delivery
  • Record Live Online sessions (check that it has been done)
  • Assist with utilizing online tools to the fullest potential
  • Assist with Live Online class lesson delivery, incorporating Bridgeway Academy standards and best practices in online instruction and learning.
  • Supervise breakout rooms and answer questions in chat
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma minimum; some college preferred
  • Experience and skill working with Zoom similar online meeting platform
  • Competency with some or all Microsoft Suite products: PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Ability to effectively utilize Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle experience) and learn LOC’s Edovate LMS
  • Experience using tech learning tools preferred such as Classkick, Nearpod, Kahoot!, Blooket, Gimkit, Quizziz, Padlet (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask on either split screens or dual monitors
  • Strong independent work habits & problem-solving skills
