Job summary

JBA International is seeking a paralegal to join our growing team in a part-time remote capacity. The role focuses on discovery drafting, document preparation, and investigations to support litigation efforts.

Responsibilities include handling discovery requests, filings, and coordinating with attorneys, with emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery. Remote work is available, with potential relocation considerations for Los Angeles area involvement.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or a minimum of six months experience in drafting discovery documents and reviewing medical records.
• Experience with Casepeer a plus.
• Typing speed of 28 wpm with 95% accuracy.
• Familiar with general office equipment and software including Word, Excel and Adobe.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists attorneys with the preparation of responses to discovery.
• Send out discovery requests.
• Monitors compliance with discovery by all parties and prepares motions as appropriate.
• Assists attorneys with investigation of cases.
• Prepare and serve litigation documents such as notice of deposition and expert exchanges.
• File litigation documents with state courts.
• Obtains medical, insurance, employment and other records/information through record requests or subpoenas; assists with drafting motions and briefs.
