Reserv is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Claims Examiner to manage litigated auto claims from inception to resolution. You will evaluate liability and damages, negotiate settlements, and oversee discovery, depositions, and court hearings while collaborating with defense counsel and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (lack of one should not stop you if you possess other qualifications).
• 10+ years of claim handling experience, with 5+ years in litigation.
• Transportation litigation experience preferred but not required if other requirements are met.
• Not intimidated by attorneys; you drive litigation strategy and manage discovery timing.
• Understand transportation coverages and contractual risk transfer.
• Strong medical knowledge and sense of urgency for time-sensitive demands.
• Ability to communicate well both on the phone and in writing.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills; negotiate with opposing counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage legal aspects of litigated cases; evaluate process and expenses.
• Review auto insurance claims to identify disputes; investigate and gather documentation.
• Attend mediations/arbitrations/court hearings; communicate with clients, adjusters, attorneys, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with defense counsel and vendors for strategic planning and maintain relationships with defense firms.
• Review documents for compliance with suit-handling plans; corporate representation at depositions and trials.
• Analyze policy language to reach coverage decisions and draft complex coverage correspondence.
• Direct outside vendors and manage costs of defense counsel, coverage counsel, experts, and adjusters.
• Maintain adjuster licenses and complete continuing education requirements.
