Canonical’s Partner Engineering team is seeking open‑source enthusiasts to optimize Ubuntu for new silicon across x86, ARM, RISC‑V and more. You will collaborate with a distributed team to ensure high‑quality software and seamless user experiences while contributing to silicon enablement and security features.

You should have a strong background in C, C++, and Python, plus an undergraduate technical degree and an interest in Linux packaging. Remote work with global travel is common.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in C, C++ and Python.
• Curiosity, flexibility and accountability for open source work.
• Interest in Linux packaging and open source maintenance.
• Experience with distributed collaboration across teams is a plus.
• Ability to learn new toolchains and architectures quickly.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate within a distributed team to optimize Ubuntu on new silicon.
• Debug open source code and maintain silicon-optimized packages.
• Help customers integrate apps and SDKs with Ubuntu Core/Desktop/Server.
• Contribute to platform security and packaging workflows.
• Engage with upstream projects and Debian communities.
