Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Linux devices software engineer on the SnapD team to work on mission-critical Golang code and device management. The role emphasizes security, telemetry, and container delivery for IoT, desktops and servers.

You will join a distributed team, write high-quality Go code, and engage in thorough testing and reviews. Relocation is not required; remote work across EMEA or Americas is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent.
• Professional software development experience using Go, Python, C, or C++.
• Knowledge of Linux system-level fundamentals (cgroups, namespaces, AppArmor).
• Commitment to software testing, code reviews and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a distributed team across regions.
• Write high-quality code to create new features.
• Debug Linux system level issues and fix them with robust solutions.
• Review code produced by other engineers and provide feedback.
• Discuss ideas and collaborate on robust solutions.
